Keema Mattar Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1/4 tsp of red pepper
1 Tbsp of coriander; powdered
1 Tbsp of cumin; powdered
1 tsp of turmeric
3 Tbsp of tomato paste
1 tsp of salt
2 Tbsp of yogurt (plain)
2 lbs of ground lamb
1 c of peas
Instructions:
Heat margarine or butter in large pot. Put in onions then saute them until light brown. Add the spices then stir.
Mix in the yogurt plus tomato paste. Cook for about 10 min. Mince lamb then add to mixture. There must be no lump in mixture.
After mixture boils, minimize heat then cook for about 50 min. Add the peas then simmer. Serve this with rice or naan. This serves 8.
