Naan #1 Recipe
Ingredients:
Ghee (butter)
2.5 c of flour
1 Tbsp of honey (sugar substitute)
2 Tbsps of oil
1 c of milk (buttermilk or yogurt)
1 pack of yeast (dry)
1 c of water (hot)
2 tsps of salt
1 c of flour
1 whole egg
Instructions:
Mix together one cup of flour, salt and yeast. Add the water, egg, honey and milk or yogurt. Whisk until you acquire a smooth consistency.
Mix in more flour in order to make a dough that is soft and sticky. Mix well then knead the dough on a flat surface dusted with flour.
Knead for five minutes then transfer into a bowl, cover with damp cloth and let it rise. Set dough aside for forty five minutes.
Afterwards, punch down on your dough then start shaping into sixteen small balls of equal size. Set small balls aside for five minutes.
Flatten balls to about one fourth inch thickness round pasties. Coat with butter (melted) then put garnish on top. Place pasties on baking trays then bake for eight minutes (450 degrees F).
