Carrot Halva Recipe
Ingredients:
4 lbs of carrots
2 c of powdered milk (Carnation)
1/2 gallon of milk
1 c of oil
2 c of sugar (refined)
Nuts (to taste)
Instruction:
Clean carrots with water and rinse well then grate. Bring milk to a boil then put carrots in. Cook til milk is nearly gone (three to four hours), stirring occasionally to avoid sticking at the bottom of pan.
Stir in oil then continue to cook while often stirring. This should roast carrots after another half hour. Add (powdered) milk then the sugar.
Cook til most of the liquid has evaporated. Add nuts, raisins then remove from heat. Serve this warm.
