Naan Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
Water (lukewarm)
1 Ghee (butter); melted
1 tsp of onion (seeds)
1&1/2 lbs of flour (whole wheat)
3 Tbsps of yogurt
or
2 ozs of yeast (fresh)
Instructions:
Firstly mix yeast with water that is lukewarm until dissolved. Place flour inside a bowl then create a crater in its center.
Decant yeast (or yogurt) in this crater and mix the two together. Add water just to produce a compact dough. Transfer to a board that has been dusted with flour then knead ’till it’s well mixed.
Place back inside bowl then leave it someplace warm to double in size (a couple hours). Punch down on dough then knead back to same size.
Dust with onion seeds then knead to mix. Equally divide dough to four portions. Shape each ball to a tear drop shape. Pre heat your oven and prepare a foil lined baking tray.
Transfer your naan bread on your baking tray then bake ’till it browns. Immediately extract from oven, flip to the other side then coat with butter. Return nan to your oven to bake ’till it sizzles.
Good for four persons.
