Chapati Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of flour (whole wheat)
or
1/3 white & 2/3 whole wheat
1/2 c of water
Instructions:
Combine flour and 1/4 cup of water; blend thoroughly. Beat then knead it well till formed to a ball. Knead till it becomes elastic and smooth. Let it stand for half an hour.
Knead then divide the dough to 4-6 portions. Roll out each portion to tortilla, flattened about 1/8-inch thick. Heat the (ungreased) skillet.
Cook phulka for a minute then turn; cook other side till bubbly or for 40 seconds. Turn it again then cook while pressing gently with clean cloth.
Phulka should be puffed. Serve while warm and place butter on the side.
