Dosas Recipe
Ingredients:
10 fluid ozs of oil (vegetable)
1 tsp of salt
7 ozs of urad dal
14 ozs of rice (long grain) or patna; washed with water
Instructions:
Firstly, soak urad dal and patna in two different bowls, with water, making sure water covers the grains by one inch. Afterwards, drain then mix urad dal to six fluid ounces water.
Transfer urad dal to a blender then blitz for eight minutes ’till you get a smooth and fluffy consistency. Decant to a clean bowl.
Clean your blender then place rice inside plus six Tbsps water. Blitz to a paste. Mix rice in with your urad dal season with salt then cover. Allow it to leaven for twenty four hours in someplace warm.
After twenty four hours mix about seven fluid ounces water to your dal mixture then leave once more for two hours. After such time, heat one and a half teaspoons oil using your round skillet.
When heated pour four fluid ounces of rice mixture in its middle.
Using the convex portion of your serving spoon, gently spread mixture outwards evenly using a spiral movement ’till you’ve created roughly seven inches of pancake in diameter.
Drizzle half a teaspoon vegetable oil on top of your pancake then half teaspoon to its outer rims. Cover to cook two minutes more.
When dosa have become brownish red in color, flip to its other side then cook one minute more.
