Kheer [vermicelli Pudding] Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of butter
4 c of milk
2 handfuls of vermicelli (very fine)
1 pt of whipped cream
3 Tbsps of sugar
a handful of raisins
4 pcs of almonds; peeled and sliced thinly (optional)
Instructions:
In a large (4 qt) pot, melt the butter. Break the vermicelli to pieces (3 in). Stir the vermicelli and butter over minimal heat until it will turn light brown.
Pour milk in then stir mixture over moderate heat until it boils. Mix in sugar, raisins and almonds. Continue cooking for about 10 min. over minimal heat.
Next, add the whipped cream, still cooking for another 2 minutes. Take out from the heat. Allow to cool, then refrigerate prior to serving.
