Masoor Dahl Soup (Lentil Soup) Recipe
Ingredients:
3/4 c of lentils
1/4 tsp of turmeric
1 small-sized onion; minced
10 black peppercorns
1 tsp salt
5 cloves of garlic; minced
2 Tbsps of lemon juice
Instruction:
Pour all ingredients (except lemon juice) into 2.5 cups of boiling water. Lower temperature to moderate then simmer til water is almost gone (about twenty minutes). Remove from heat.
Grind or mash the lentils. Use as little of water as possible. Boil mashed lentils again with six cups of water. Simmer for ten to fifteen minutes more. Squeeze lemon juice then add salt (to taste).
