Matar Paneer (Peas With Paneer) Recipe
Ingredients:
1 medium-sized onion; peel and chop
1 slice (1 inch) of ginger; peel and chop
6 Tbsps of oil (vegetable)
1 paneer
2 c of whey
1 hot pepper (red and dried)
1 Tbsp coriander (seeds); ground
1/4 tsp turmeric; ground
3 medium-sized tomatoes; remove peel and chop
1 tsp of salt
1/8 tsp pepper (black); ground
1.5 c peas (remove shells)
Instruction:
Puree the onions, ginger and water (1/3 cup) inside a processor and set it aside.
Fry paneer in an oiled pot until sides are brown. Remove and set it aside. Stir in red dried pepper and brown (about 2 to 3 seconds).
Pour the pureed mix in. Stir continously for ten to twelve minutes until the pastemix becomes brownish then add coriander & turmeric then cook another 1 minute.
Add in tomatoes, cook another three to four minutes (or til tomatoes become dark brown). Pour whey, season with salt & pepper, then mix and let boil with cover.
Simmer ten minutes, remove cover then pour paneer and peas. Simmer yet another ten minutes before serving.
