Navajo & Pueblo Indian Fry Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of lard or oil
1 Tbsp of baking powder
1.5 c of hot water
1 tsp of salt
4 c of flour
Instructions:
Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Mix in your hot water into your flour mixture. Knead ’till dough becomes manageable. Equally divide the dough to small portions then shape into small balls.
Set aside for fifteen minutes. Flatten the small dough to about three fourths of an inch thick. Depress center to punch a hole right in then deep fry until brown in color.
Drain using disposable towels. Then, serve while hot and crispy.
